Shared Equity First-Time Homebuyer Grant (VHFA)

Vermont Housing Finance Authority (VHFA) is launching a new down payment and closing cost assistance grant program in 2024. Borrowers using VHFA to purchase a Shared Equity Property through Vermont Based Community Housing/Land Trust will automatically receive a $5,000 grant. The Shared Equity Assistance grant is a true grant immediately forgiven at closing, and it may be used in conjunction with other VHFA assistance programs.
