We have received reports that some of our business customers are receiving phone calls pretending to be from National Bank of Middlebury. They may even show our phone number on the caller ID. The fraudsters claim to be part of our “treasury management department” or “fraud department” and tell you that an EFT, ACH or check transaction has failed. They then ask for your account information or digital banking credentials over the phone. THIS IS A SCAM! We will not ask for your account information or digital banking credentials over the phone. If you are ever unsure if a call is legitimate, hang up the phone and call us directly at 802-388-4982.
