Middlebury Holiday Events

Everyone is invited to the Sheldon Museum’s annual Holiday Open House December 1 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm to enjoy the elaborate Model train layout, carols and Miniature Tree Raffle. The raffle features some trees decorated by local artists including Ashley Wolff, Warren Kimble, Sarah Stahl and Nancie Dunn. There are also two fabulous exhibits Ho Ho Historical Holidays to You and An Over-the-Top Holiday. They are sure to make you smile. Admission to the Holiday Open House is by donation.
The Middlebury Farmer’s Market will be holding two special Holiday Markets, the first on December 1 and the second on December 22 at the VFW Hall on Exchange Street. On the 22nd Santa will be making his last visit to Middlebury before the big night when he visits on the 22nd from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. Middlebury’s Farmers Market features produce, flowers, meats, chesses, eggs, apples, bread, maple syrup, honey, yarn, baked goods, prepared foods and more.
Very Merry Middlebury kicks off December 1 and will again include I-Spy 10 holiday squirrels as well as cutouts throughout the town. Santa comes to town via fire truck on December 1 and will do two loops through town beginning at 9:30. Santa visits at the Middlebury Inn (free) will take place from 10:00 am to noon. Milk and Cookies station at Kiss the Cook from 10:00am to noon. Hot Cocoa Hut in Cannon Park (25 cents/cup) from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Free gift wrapping of locally purchased items at Community Barn Ventures from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm – bring your receipt.
Midd Night Stroll in Downtown/Marble Works on December 6 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Stores open with sales, specials, pop-ups and lots more. Hot Cocoa Hut open and free gift wrapping from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Community Barn Ventures on Main Street.
Santa Visits on December 8 from 10:00 am to noon at Maple Landmark Woodcraft on Exchange Street in Middlebury and on December 15 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Danforth Pewter Workshop, Seymour Street, Middlebury. These visits are free.
Character Breakfast at Middlebury Inn December 8. There will be two seatings at 8:30 and 10:00 am. There will be characters in costume, balloons and music to go along with the pancake breakfast.

December 31 New Years Eve Fireworks 7:30 – 8:00 at Recreation Park, Mary Hogan Drive, Middlebury brought to you by the Middlebury American Legion, Free. New Years Eve Ice Skating at the Memorial Sports Center, Buttolph Drive. Parks and Recreation invites you to a free night of ice skating including rentals 8:00 – 9:30.
